|
Clean-up in a Box is a free classroom activity that is available to all K-3rd grade teachers at LBUSD elementary schools in Long Beach. This activity brings litter-awareness to a new level on campus, and provides schools and teachers the opportunity to win some great prizes.
|
Overview
Clean-up in a Box contains everything one classroom needs to have an on-campus litter clean-up event.
School year clean-up opportunities include:
- “Litter-free Long Beach Month” (November)
- Earth Day ( April 22, 2012 )
- After your school’s carnival or other fundraising event(s)
- Existing Environmental or Storm Water Curriculum
Teachers may conduct litter clean-up events any time during the 2011-12 school year, but only Clean Up report forms received by March 2, 2012 will qualify for the Contest and its prizes. Participating in the Clean-Up in a Box Contest is easy.
- Order your FREE Clean-up in a Box compliments of Mr. Scales, Long Beach ’s litter-free lizard.
- Complete a campus clean-up event with your class using the supplies in the box.
- Fill out the supplied Clean-up report form and send it in before March 2 to be entered in the Clean-up in a Box Contest.
