Education & Outreach: Lunch with a Lizard  
Schools play a vital role in improving Long Beach’s quality of life by helping to educate the next generation of adults about the importance of litter abatement and environmental stewardship. To this end, the Environmental Services Bureau offers an entertaining litter-awareness performance that is available FREE to all LBUSD elementary schools in Long Beach.

Lunch with a Lizard is a 20-minute, professional performance designed for K-3rd grades. Each performance features two characters, a Host and her lively friend, Mr. Scales, the Long Beach litter-free Lizard. Together, they teach the importance of keeping Long Beach litter-free, and deliver three key litter awareness messages in a fun, interactive and entertaining way.

Key messages:

  • Always put trash in a trash can
  • Remember to reduce, reuse and recycle
  • Remind friends and family not to litter

Lunch with a Lizard easily fits within a typical school day and the program's staff provide performance set up.
